Randy Miritello

Randy Miritello is a songwriter, singer and guitarist, founder of the band Hop City Hellcats, co-founding member of the Horseshoe Lounge Playboys and has been called halfway between classic Cash and Dwight Yoakam.  Raised on a mix of bluegrass, Willie and Waylon and classic rock, it is hard to pin a genre on him.

His career began in the late 80s in rural Tioga County, in the state of New York, where he was raised in a rich community of old-time and country music. Inspiration led Randy to the road, travelling the highways and back roads of America where he developed his own musical voice while playing old-time fiddle and guitar with friends who went on to form Old Crow Medicine Show. Since then, Randy has performed in front of audiences across the country, opening for legendary acts such as Steve Earle, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Mavericks, Levon Helm Band and David Allen Coe among others.

Having made three full length records with Horseshoe Lounge Playboys and two more with Hop City Hellcats, an opportunity to write and record in Nashville presented itself and Randy jumped at the chance.

In 2022, he signed a writing development deal with SSM Nashville and, in 2025, released the single Chasing My Tail with the label.

Randy said: “I started to write Chasing My Tail in the summer of 2023 while driving from New York to Nashville. There is something about being alone in a car for 14 hours that gives me so much inspiration. I like to have the radio off for hours and just let my mind wander until ideas and phrases come into my mind. I keep a notebook by my side and jot down little snippets.

“I got to thinking about the idea of meeting someone and feeling like it’s going somewhere but then getting the suspicion that you are in it deeper than the other person and wondering ‘am I chasing my tail, chasing you?'”
