Phil Blundell

North West-based Phil Blundell‘s influences include Bob Dylan, The Band, John Prine, Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and the great bands from the 1960s.

Phil is no rookie though when it comes to writing, as he started in the 1970s, crafting away, submitting songs to publishing companies. However, luck wasn’t on his side at the time and he had little response. Before long, life happened, and he didn’t really start writing again until 2015 when he took early retirement.

He formed the band JakLash Cat with two close friends in 2018 and went on to record two albums, with the title track of one, Shooting Star, a finalist for the UKCountryRadio.com Song Award in 2024.

In the same year he decided to venture into a solo project and record an album with 31 Twelve Music titled Don’t Look Back.

Don’t Look Back, the title track from the album, is released on 31 Twelve Records and is available to download and stream on all major platforms.

The single itself sets the tone for the album, with upbeat rhythms, hook driven melodies, and a live feel. The track gives a sense of hope, leaving the past in the past as we move forward in life.
