John Sargent was born in western Kentucky, north of Nashville, Tennessee, the home of country music in the United States. As a teenager he went to the Grand Ol’ Opry to see the original stars, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Chet Atkins to name a few. Recently, he was watching an internet program and several guys wrote to the moderator asking what it was like to date a country girl. That caused his heart to skip a beat. As John thought about his teenage country girlfriend, his mind began to wander, and he got the idea to write the song Have You Ever Made Love to a Country Girl.

John is a retired airline pilot with 30 years service at a major US airline. Upon retiring, he moved to Los Angeles and studied filmmaking. After working in the industry then moving to France, he produced a short documentary that was accepted into the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. After that, he wrote a book, Dancing in the Blue Room, that was published in the UK and is for sale on Amazon.
John is 86 years old and enjoying new challenges. Songwriting is interesting and rewarding for him, and he looks forward to producing more music.
