Sarah Wise

SARAH WISE is originally from Hull and now lives in Doncaster. Her early memories of becoming lost in music involved being pressed up to her parents’ glass-fronted hi-fi with four amazing vinyl albums to work her way through – namely Shirley Bassey “”The Singles””, Stevie Wonder’s “”Hotter Than July””, Nana Mouskouri’s “”An Evening With”” and Gene Pitney’s album “”A Town Without Pity””. The rest is history.

Sarah is a singer/songwriter who has had much success gigging with her previous band Drivesouth. For as long as she can remember, it has been Sarah’s intention to record an album of tracks that have touched her life in some way, ranging from the day she realised her passion for singing to the present. She has worked for the past year to make that dream a reality.

The result is Sarah’s debut album “”People Get Ready””. With fellow musicians Tony Hornsby (previously of C’est La Vie) and John Taylor from The John Taylor Band, they drafted in some awesome players to feature on the album, drummer Paul Smith for one!.

The album is a blend of old and not so old tracks from Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Wonder to Shania Twain and Sheryl Crow, each track having a huge meaning to Sarah. From soaring ballads to cool country-rock, she combines a moving vocal performance together with the finest musicianship, producing a varied collection of songs with a strong country flavour.

Sarah is currently working on her own self-penned material as her next project, and looks forward to returning to the studio very soon.
