Paper Lanterns

Dreams of a Dreamer is the debut album for Yorkshire based acoustic act PAPER LANTERNS.

The album was released worldwide via all digital stores in summer 2015. The 10 track album features beautifully crafted love and life songs with mainly a country pop feel, however there is a definite touch of a folk influence thrown in for good measure.

The band has been Brilliantly described as the love child of ‘’The Beautiful South’’ and ‘’The Carpenters’’, Paper Lanterns songs touch the hardest of hearts. The album has been a year in the making and has been a real labour of love.

The band has recently received critical acclaim from the The Songwriters Guild, and songs from the band have been featured on BBC introducing shows and the hub radio in Cornwall as well as several other internet radio stations across the world.

Paper Lanterns songwriter Derek Morris is the brother of Gerry Morris, songwriter & guitarist with Billy J Kramer and the New Dakotas. Gerry’s untimely suicide moved Derek to write the haunting song “My Hero, My Brother.”

Encouraged by the reaction from this song Derek continued to write songs inspired by his life, and the lives of family and friends. The album is a real family affair and both his daughters Samantha & Georgina sing on the album along with special friend and vocalist Scott Ekert.

Initially a studio project, the band has drummed up a lot of interest and support since the albums release and are now working on a live show to take out on the road.
