Graham Mizen is a singer and rhythm guitarist. Predominantly a solo singer, he is also a member of the Webb Mizen Duo and band member with Earl, Gloucestershire’s “all you can eat” Americana band.
A former singer with the touring Americana/Folk band The Jigantics, Graham was lead vocalist on numerous songs on the CD ‘Are We There Yet?’. On the album, he features on lead and all backing vocals on the Country song ‘Hammer Going Down’. Graham was also a backing singer for Clem Curtis of The Foundations at many of Clem’s acoustic shows in the 90s.

One of a family of nine children, he learned his harmonising craft when frequently searching for a harmony part during sessions with his brothers.
Graham and a previous duo partner met Clem Curtis during the 90s when, out of the blue, Clem switched on his radio mic, jumped on stage and joined in during a residency gig at The Olney Wine Bar, Milton Keynes. It turned out that Clem was also an occasional performer there, the party venue being in his home town. For the next few years, Graham and his duo partner provided backing vocals for Clem for his ‘Clem Curtis and The Foundations’ acoustic sessions.
In recent years, Graham has been writing and recording. His first album, ‘Thinking of You’ was released in 2018. It’s been described as a ‘multi-genre’ album, biased toward country and folk. For the country tracks, check out ‘You Were Right (I Was Left), ‘Can I Have My Guitar Back?’, ‘Anybody Like You’, ‘Prettiest Girl’ and ‘I’m On A Train’.
Graham’s track, ‘Can I Have My Guitar Back?’ from that album was a winner at the latest GASC (Great American Song Contest) awards. It’s a traditional country song, based on a true story about when he let someone play during a gig break, only to find that the guy was a better singer/musician.

Graham’s latest album, ‘Play It’, is again multi-genre. ‘The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea’ is the stand-out country track. The video was shot at Devil’s Chapel, in the Forest Of Dean. (Well worth a visit if you can find it – the locals like to keep it a secret, but it’s a favourite spot for the film and TV industry).
Both of Graham’s recent albums were produced by T’Pau’s Ron Rogers at ‘Up The Lane Studio’ near Monmouth.
Graham is a winner of the Great American Song Contest 2023/24, with his country track, Can I Have My Guitar Back?
In the 2022/23 Great American Song Contest, Graham received an Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting award for his Christmas song Santa Stole My Bike!
Graham’s song, Play It On A Saturday Night received a Special Mention Award in the International Songwriting Awards 2022/23 and was a UK Songwriting Contest finalist in 2022.
All Graham’s songs are available to stream. Alternatively, you can buy an album from his website.
Graham moved to Lincoln and now gigs frequently as a solo singer of original songs and covers around the Lincoln area. He also travels to continue performing with his duo/band mates (and others) in Newark and around Gloucestershire.

In February 2025, Graham released his first self-produced original single Lost.
The song, which includes additional instrumentation from his Earl bandmates Stuart Earl and Lyndon Webb, is about, loss, getting lost and what not to say when you think you’ve found someone new.
Lost was written on the train ride home after a weekend walking around London.
Graham said: “I grew up in the country and a city trip is still an event for me, and often provides moments of inspiration.”
New material is on the way, including Graham’s new country single “I don’t Have The Time To Think About You”, which is due for a March release.
Graham has started working on his own new Country solo album and is collaborating with Stuart Earl on some exciting new Earl/Mizen tracks. Graham has also hooked up with talented Lincoln poet Jae Jenkins-Scott, putting music to Jae’s words.
