A multi-award winning singer-songwriter, COLIN GORDON-FARLEIGH was awarded the accolade of “Best Bluegrass Artist, 2018” by the Akademia Music Awards company, based in Los Angeles, and the following year he won the award for 2019 from the organisation. In 2020 he was also presented with the Artist Vision Award for “Exceptional talent, originality and vision in the field of music”.”
A successful songwriter with many chart successes to his name, it was in May 2017 when he was in Nashville to be present when several of his songs were being recorded at Funhouse Studios on Music Row, that Colin’s friend Ernie Rowell invited him to sing with his band at Long Hollow Jamboree during an open-mike session that Saturday evening. Reluctantly, (very!) Colin sang one of his favourite classic country songs, ‘Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain’, and the rest, as they say, is now history.
People enjoyed Colin’s singing and Ernie, together with his friend Gary McCray, decided that he should go into the studio a few days later to record the song. The result was a 3-track EP which Colin released later that year. This was followed up by a full album called ‘Second Chances’ in 2018 which has had a lot of success.
In April 2019, the Akademia Music Awards organisation, based in Los Angeles, awarded Colin “Best Bluegrass Singer, 2018” and this was repeated in 2020 when he was awarded the same accolade for 2019. This year Colin was presented with the prestigious “Artist Vision Award” for his contribution to both bluegrass music and the music industry.
In August 2020 Colin’s new album, “Friends & Heroes” was released on the SJM label and has been very successful. This has been followed by a Christmas EP titled “Country Christmas” which was released in October.
In June 2021, Colin joined forces with Nashville-based composer Sandy Smolen and recording artist Cindy Hall to record the song “Better World”. It was released on World Environment Day 2021 with all royalties to be donated to five publicly nominated environmental charities.
The team is hoping to do their bit to support World Environment Day by releasing the song. Its message centres around how we all need to build a better world for the future and must play a part in doing this. All those involved in creating the track have volunteered to donate their worldwide royalties from Better World for at least 12 months.
The team has set itself the ambitious challenge of achieving one million streams and downloads by 5th June 2022 and hopes to achieve this by gaining public support to stream and share the song.
