Cairns Country

Cairns Country is a band based in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. In early 2022, they released two singles.

“My Heart’s Running On Empty” features the vocals of Libby Brockenshire whose day job is driving a 300-ton haul truck at a Northern Territory manganese mine. This track has guest narrations by Rusty Wright and Laurie LaCross-Wright of renowned Florida, US-based, rock and country blues band Rusty Wright Group.

“Make Your Love Last” also features the beautiful vocals of Libby Brockenshire.

Both tracks were recorded at Pegasus Studios in Cairns. The owner of Pegasus Studios, Nigel Pegrum, was producer and MD for both tracks, as well as playing drums on the tracks. Nigel is an import from the UK having previously been the drummer in British folk rock group Steeleye Span. Both tracks are from a forthcoming album titled “Make Your Love Last”. Both songs are original, having been written by Frank Markert of Cairns.
