Wye Creek Music is a new digital record label and music publishing company based in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District town of Bakewell and founded by musicians and songwriters Mike Evans and Tony Godbehere.
Tony says, “Wye Creek Music is different! It is a DIGITAL LABEL! This means that we are actively promoting legal download albums direct from our own website rather than entering the rat-race and huge expense of duplicating and distributing physical CDs.
“Consequently, we can cut out the middlemen and afford to offer our music to fans at lower prices and also offer our artists a better and fairer deal than they would get with a traditional record label.”
Long Way Home, Tonight
Ideal for lovers of country music is the mini-album Long Way Home Tonight by Wye Creek Riders, the label’s house band. This features five original new country tracks all composed by Tony Godbehere and available for download for just £1.99 – that’s less than the price of a pint – less than 50p a track!
New linedance
To promote the title track, Mike, an experienced linedance instructor, has choreographed a new linedance – Long Way Home – and the step sheet can be downloaded free from Wye Creek Music’s website.
Wye Creek Music also recognise that many music collectors may want to make their own CDs from the downloads and so, to facilitate this, Wye Creek provide free downloadable artwork for CD sleeves and labels, so that fans can print their own if they wish.
Free backing tracks for gigging acts
As a music publisher, Wye Creek Music wants its songs heard by a wide audience.
So it’s offering UK country acts a free performing license and free backing tracks for their country songs including Long Way Home,Tonight!
“There’s no catch,” explains Tony. “Email me and I’ll send full details.”
