The Laughing Academy

The Laughing Academy was formed by singer songwriter Ken Stephens, calling on the talents of multiple friends and vocalist Elkie to take the songs from the solo guitar and singer stage to the studio. The songs are a mix of country, rock, pop and folk with themes of love, regret, moving on and the environment, all with a distinctive British style and diverse instrumentation. This is shown in the song SKA-rred for life which is a blend of country and ska with a brass section or the eastern influenced It’s Not A Sin and the humour of Tryin’ Too Hard.
