Peter Williams

PETER WILLIAMS can be best summed up by his strapline: “”My Voice Is My Guitar””. To explain, Peter replaces where the vocal or melody line would be in a song with his guitar. An accomplished guitar tutor, he plays a Fender Stratocaster and a Burns Marvin guitar in the style of Hank Marvin of The Shadows.

Peter is a huge fan of old TV westerns from the fifties and sixties – hence his inclusion as an artist on UKCountryRadio.com. Peter released an album called Lone Rider: Great TV and Movie Western Themes which has been incredibly popular. While recording the album, Peter had the opportunity to communicate with many of the stars of those western shows, such as Clint Walker, Ty Hardin, Peter Brown, Johnny Western and the great Frankie Laine.

Peter has completed over 20 albums to date, which include tributes to Billy Fury, Elvis Presley and John Leyton. At the end of 2008, Peter produced a Christmas album called Especially For You – Instrumentally Christmas – which features guitar instrumentals of seventeen Christmas favourites including Elvis’s Blue Christmas and Walking In The Air from the famous Snowman film. There is also a bonus track from John Leyton.

Peter has also released From The Heart, an album of love songs and a country music album. Peter is a great fan of country music, citing Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and the UK’s Charlie Landsborough among his favourites.

In 2011, Peter released an album “”Remembering Elvis Presley””. This is his second tribute album to Elvis, containing 26 tracks and running for over 70 minutes. Peter says he prefers Elvis’s ballads to the more rockier songs, and is considering recording an album of Elvis gospel songs in the future.
