Growing up in Sydney, Melissa began singing solo at the age of 16 performing in school musicals and representing her school in regional concerts as a soloist. Melissa began learning guitar and joined the school Rock band in her senior years as lead singer and rhythm guitarist.

Moving to country New South Wales became a turning point in Melissa’s life and in her musical pursuits. After studying singing through the Australian Music Examinations Board for a number of years and winning places in the Penrith and Cowra Eisteddfods, Melissa began to appreciate writing her own songs about her country life and experiences. Luke O’Shea, one of Australia’s finest country music singer/songwriters, said, “It’s a great song and really well produced and delivered.” The My Heart’s On Fire EP release coincided with a New South Wales tour which began in October 2014. Melissa is also hoping to release a video.

In 2015, Melissa will again travel to The Tamworth Country Music Festival and will hold ‘The Songwriter’s Showcase With Melissa Robertson and Friends’ giving Australian and international songwriters an opportunity to showcase their original songs.

Melissa will release three songs from her ‘My Heart’s On Fire’ EP and would like to perform at more festivals, clubs and hotels throughout Australia, taking her songs to more country music fans.
