Jacqui Sharkey

JACQUI SHARKEY is a singer/songwriter from West Donegal in Ireland.

Having been raised South of Glasgow in Scotland when her family moved there, she found her musical footing in the city’s folk scene as a teenager before returning to live in Donegal, where she went on to perform various types of musical genres, from folk to jazz and rock.

In Donegal and beyond, Jacqui was best known for playing various leading roles in musical theatre, and as the lead singer and keyboard player of popular Rock & Pop band, ‘The Jury’s Out’, before going on to record a 4 track Folk E.P., ‘A Fairer Love’, in 2004. Following the huge success of her first single, Sandy Mason’s ‘When I Dream’, in 2010, she released her debut album, ‘A New Dawn’ in 2011, which marked her cross over into Americana and New Country Music.

Jacqui’s second album, ‘Love And Other Things’, released in 2014, was produced by well known Irish Musician and Producer, Manus Lunny, of Capercaillie, and brings a slight Folk and Celtic flavour to her blend of Country music.

Her third album, ‘Shine’ has been heralded as her best work to date, with 13 tracks, including her well-received single, ‘Take Me To Paris’ and many more great new original songs written by Jacqui and other Irish and American Songwriters. It also features a fresh take on some well known cover songs, including ‘Love Will Keep Us Alive’ by Paul Carrack, Peter Vale and Nicola Capaldi, made known by ‘The Eagles’.
