Dave Drain Band

The Dave Drain Band are a four-piece all-live band, who don’t use backing tracks.

They have been together in their current form for four years, playing venues from small pubs to country music festivals throughout East Anglia.

They also try to do at least one charity show per year.

Dave Drain is the lead singer and also plays rhythm guitar. He began performing over 40 years ago with the Night Riders and Bear Country and has also played with many well-known country music bands.

Lead guitarist and singer Nick Stone has travelled the UK with bands such as Tender Foot. He has also played in Irish Bands.

Dave Callaghan has come out of retirement to play the bass guitar with the band. Previously he has been a member of the bands Eastern Express and Night Riders.

Hels Drain completes the line-up on drums and backing vocals. She has spent most of her life in dance, including a stint with the Royal Ballet. Hels joined the band after they were left without a drummer, picked up her first sticks in August 2006 and had her first drum lesson in December of that year.

In 2010, the band released an album “Songs By Request” which is available from our Online Music Store. As the name implies, the album is made up of ten tracks which are favourites of fans of the band.

The album also includes contributions from guests Mark Dunn on pedal steel and Kevin West on dobro.
