Aida Heston

Aida Heston is a singer-songwriter from Hove, East Sussex. She has been singing, writing and performing since the age of 16. Her songwriting style is inspired by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Garth Brooks, Sara Bareilles, Lizzy McAlpine, Billy Joel, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift etc.

Aida likes to write songs that move people, that make people stop and think and feel, not in a browbeating kind of way, but instead inspire you to maybe look at things in a slightly different way. She is moved by songs that tell a story and take you on a journey. She has also written some fun, happy, pop, uptempo songs which are jovial and pleasant.

Aida brings different cultures, styles and genres into the songs that she writes to make her music more accessible to everyone, rather than be pigeon-holed by selective genres or perceptions.

In October 2022, Aida released the EP “Paper Cuts”

In December 2023, Aida released the song “Mama Said”. It went onto to be a Finalist for Best Modern Country Song 2024 at the World Songwriting Awards.

In May 2024, Aida released “Rewrite My Story”. The song is about positivity.

Aida said: “When you have overcome the worst in your life, whatever that might be, you embrace the new and, in the process, you reinvent yourself. So essentially you are rewriting your story – only this time, in spite of everything, you endeavour to have a happy ending (with a bit of God’s help).

“Rewrite My Story” was closely followed by the release of “Only Fools Believe”. The song tells of a woman who is a victim of domestic abuse, standing facing a mirror having a conversation with herself about her situation, asking whether she should hold on and believe that her partner will love and respect her, and essentially the only answer to that question is ‘Only Fools Believe’

“Rewrite My Story” and “Only Fools Believe” come from Aida’s forthcoming new EP / album “Confessions & Lessons” due for release later in the year.
