One of the newest kids on the country scene, The Cockney Cowboy is making waves with his own UK based country songs, cleverly blending stories of his East End life into catchy country music. Accompanied by The Cockney Cowboy Band, their music is not only catchy, but strangely relatable.
Justin Vella, The Cockney Cowboy, was born in Walthamstow in London’s East End. Justin’s family moved to Essex when he was seven years old. Music has always been Justin’s passion but it wasn’t until he was 15 years old that he found his true calling, when he stumbled across Garth Brooks’ The Dance. The song began a lifelong love affair with country music, with Justin singing Garth Brooks songs at regular karaoke venues.
In 2023 The Cockney Cowboy was born and quickly became a popular attraction in venues across Essex, Kent, London and Buckinghamshire and his popularity is still on the rise, reaching further afield all the time. The Cockney Cowboy decided the time was right to put his own stamp on country music with his own song, the aptly named City Boy Singing Country Songs, which is based on his feelings when he’s performing. The future is looking mighty fine.
The Cockney Cowboy’s third single, Five, describes his chaotic life as a dad to five children, all grown up and just as mischievous as ever, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
