Sarah Riches

Blending soulful Americana with authentic country storytelling, Staffordshire-based Sarah Riches crafts songs that feel both timeless and freshly new. With her instantly recognisable distinctive, rich, emotive and versatile vocals and thought-provoking songwriting, she creates musical landscapes that transport listeners to dusty backroads, sun-drenched southern fields and dimly lit honky-tonks, while exploring deeply personal themes of love, loss, and resilience.

Whether performing intimate acoustic sets that showcase the raw power of her voice and songwriting or backed by her stellar band the Dreamcatchers delivering heartbreaking pedal steel-drenched ballads to full-throttle country rock, Sarah connects with audiences through her authenticity, humour and emotional vulnerability.

Since emerging on the scene, Sarah has built a devoted following through her genuine approach to music-making and captivating live performances. Drawing inspiration from country legends like Bonnie Raitt and Trisha Yearwood while infusing her sound with contemporary perspectives reminiscent of artists like Kacey Musgraves and Brandi Carlile, she occupies a unique space in today’s country/Americana landscape.

Sarah’s 2023 debut album I Don’t Give Up Easily was produced in Nashville by Fred Mollin whose A-list recording catalogue includes JD Souther (composer for the Eagles), Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Webb, Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill and Lyle Lovett, with many of the album musicians being regular artists at The Grand Ole Opry. The album reached No 4 in the iTunes Country Album chart, with two singles from the album reaching the top five in the singles chart. It also generated multiple award nominations at The UK Country Music Awards and the British Country Music Awards.

Since the album release, Sarah has maintained the Nashville sound with UK-based Inspire Music and her band of Dreamcatchers, creating a series of singles contrasting in mood, edge and style, from classic honky-tonk to country ballad, Americana to Southern rock, which have captured the attention and solid support of radio presenters both in the UK and overseas.

In July 2025, Sarah released the single Devil in Blue. Switching gear effortlessly from the anthemic Southern Rock vibe of her previous single We Ain’t Getting Outta Here Alive, Sarah transports us back to the wild west through the swing doors of a hot and dusty Tennessee honky tonk-bar.

Here you’ll see her swept up off her feet by a practiced player who makes her forget all reason for a while, until she finally sees through the cigar smoke and mirrors and shows that cowboy the door. While this is undoubtedly a classic country theme, any poor soul who has recently been burned will testify that the charms of a “sweet-talking, firewalking, hell-for-leather devil in blue” can still prove irresistible, even in this modern world of dating!

Backed by the solid musicianship of her stellar band The Dreamcatchers, and produced by Inspire Music this catchy offering from Sarah Riches highlights once again the versatility of her storytelling, and the stand-out strength and range of her vocal skills.

Sarah is currently working on her next album.
