Matt Gee

Nashville-based musician and producer Matt Griffith has adopted the name Matt Gee for a collaboration with UK lyricist John Knight designed to gain some access, recognition and momentum in the UK.

Back home in the US, Matt is founding member of the band Three Lane. In addition to his outstanding vocals, he is a standout electric and acoustic guitar player. Matt is also a singer-songwriter who has collaborated with a myriad of Nashville hit songwriters and written songs for Three Lane as well as his own solo music.

Matt has produced albums for Three Lane, Whiskey, Cash and Roses and many other solo artists under his production company 4 The Song Productions. He has shared the stage with artists like Sheryl Crow, REO Speedwagon, Chris Daughtry, Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Rhett Akins and many others. Matt has enjoyed playing all over the United States and he loves being on stage and connecting with people through the incredible power of music.

Matt has a degree in Vocal Performance from Colorado Mesa University. He moved to Nashville in 2009 from Grand Junction, Colorado, with his wife, Stefanie. They have three daughters.

Matt specialises in country, Americana, and singer-songwriter folk production and has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his own personal heroes and many of Nashville’s finest.

John Knight, a former taxi driver, lives just outside Cambridge. He has a love of writing and has written stories for young and old, poetry, screenplays but most of all, songs, which is his main love.

John and Matt have forged a partnership similar to that of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.  John writes the lyrics and Matt then creates the music, performs and produces the song in his Nashville Studios.

Their first song, Turn That Radio Down can be found on most platforms. In the song, “turning down the radio” is used as a metaphor for dropping the barriers and listening to your partner loved ones.  It is about opening up your heart and soul and being receptive to others.

Matt and John have plans for a four-song EP for the end of 2026 with recording taking place during March, June and September.
