Earl

Singer/songwriter Stuart Earl started writing songs about 10 years ago. He formed EARL with Lyndon Webb and wrote the songs for his first album My name is Earl The Album. The duo was joined by Marty Fitzgibbon on drums and Mike Edwards on bass to form a four-piece band.

Based in South West England and Wales, they play acoustic and slide guitars and a mixture of original songs covering Americana, country and blues. They regularly play gigs and festivals across the country.

Stuart has been an active member, Chairman and Trustee of the European Blues Association. He was also on the nomination panel for the British Blues Awards 2012.

Stuart’s song “The Devil Drives” was selected as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2012/13. With over 20,000 entrants overall worldwide, the song made it to the last sixteen in the Americana category and won an “Honorable Mention”. What’s more, it was the only British finalist in the Americana category.

The second album ‘Peanuts & Monkeys’ was released in 2013. Stuart and Lyndon were joined by slide guitar master and album co-producer Michael Messer, along with Richard Causon (Tom Jones, Ryan Adams). It features pedal steel legend B.J.Cole on three of the songs. The rhythm section features the talents of Andy Crowdy on bass guitar and double bass, and Simon Price on drums.

The album was recorded live at Leif Storm Studios, London in the summer of 2013. It comprises eleven original songs written by Stuart Earl.
