I was born in Paddington, London and now reside in a village near Lincoln. Music has always been in my life as my parents were avid record collectors. My music tastes are wide, however I discovered country music in the early 80s by a chance meeting.
As part of my work I met up with Wally Whyton who then presented the BBC radio country show. He introduced me to the country scene which I was keen to do as I was not appreciating the current pop scene. We met up a few times at the Wembley Arena Easter Country festivals. I was sold on this genre and have been ever since.
I have been fortunate to have visited Austin and Nashville and attended shows at the Grand Ole Opry and my highlight was going to The Bluebird Cafe. I have worked for a number of FM and internet radio stations and hope to bring my experience to the table here on UKCountryradio.com
In recent years my interest in country music has spread to the independent sector and the ever improving UK artist scene. I am a member of The International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA), based in Atlanta, US, that celebrates the work and music of independent artists. I have also received two International DJ of The Year awards from the ISSA. Nice but it’s really all about the music. I am also a member of the CMA and BCMA.
When I am not in my studio you will find me strumming with my ukulele group, playing lawn bowls and following my football team, Queens Park Rangers. I know – but someone has to!
