George Light is a songwriter and builder from Kent whose songs draw on his own life experiences and a love of storytelling.
With no previous musical background, George began teaching himself guitar after his daughters bought him one for Christmas. Four years later, the 50-year-old is writing his own songs and working towards completing an album.
George writes the lyrics and music, shapes each song’s structure and sings all the lead vocals. He works with Nick Powling at Gecko Recording Studios in Kent, who handles production, plays additional instruments and sometimes contributes backing vocals.
Although still relatively new to performing live, George occasionally takes to the stage and values the support of local venues championing original music, including The Doghouse and The Mole Hole in Gravesend.
