Julian Jones has been writing songs on his acoustic guitar for a number of years.
The songs tend to have a country, folk and storytelling vibe to them. After trying a few out at open mic nights, he decided to record one of his songs and sent it off to UKCountryRadio, with success.
Jones’ newest single Country Rose is about two country people who are mad about each other but initially have a fear of commitment. As the song progresses, it becomes clear that they are made for each other and are destined to be together.
Jones loves songs with a strong melody that can capture powerful emotions or describe characters and their surroundings in a particular environment, creating a picture in someone’s mind that they can interpret in their own way.
He also thinks songs work particularly well when they explore a bleak or difficult period in someone’s life but balance it with something positive or uplifting happening on the horizon.
