I think I have always been a fan of country music not necessarily realising that it was ‘country music’.
I used to follow the pop charts religiously when I was younger and looking back now the songs I bought/liked were for their story-telling more than anything else.
I have been a fan of ‘new’ country music since 2001 when I found a local radio show which was on a Saturday night and played a mix of old and new country and I heard ‘Austin’ by ‘Blake Shelton’ and just thought wow what a great song.

Every song tells a story with a start, middle and ending.The lyrics are understandable.Even without a video you can play most county songs through your mind and see the story unfold.
