Traditional, straight-ahead country music provides the backbone to most of the tracks and Owen, who plays all the instruments heard on the album, has been careful to set the sound of his recordings in a style that would not have been out of place on a George Jones or a Buck Owens song from days gone by. Having been immersed in country music throughout his musical life, Owen likes to try and keep at least a trace of it in all of his songs.
