Caitlin Mae

Caitlin Mae is a passionate and talented young vocalist and actress who plans to follow a career within the creative arts sector.

Caitlin had an amazing 2019 as she was thrilled to be chosen as a supporting actress for teen comedy Almost Never which involved Fleur East and Emily Atack. She spent a number of days filming in Cardiff for the programme and met some amazing people along the way. Additionally, Caitlin Mae was then asked to work on a podcast series with Laura Anderson of Love Island fame which aired on BBC Sounds.

Even more exciting was the fact Caitlin Mae got chosen as one of the 18 teenagers to film Teen Taxi with Dragonfly Productions. Caitlin was filmed travelling to a charity event that she was taking part in, a pig farm (she has always wanted a Micro Pig as a pet) as well as her first day at college and a Halloween party. She had immense fun with this project and both season 1 and 2 can be viewed on BBC iplayer.

A natural and effervescent performer on stage, Caitlin loves providing her services to charities in her local area. She is currently an Ambassador for Welsh Hearts and often performs at their fund-raising events.

She is also a strong advocate against bullying in schools, after experiencing it herself, which resulted in her being home-schooled during her final GCSE year. She enjoys inspirational speaking on this subject whenever she gets the opportunity and is proud to have been asked to speak at a number of events including a function held by the Go Girl Academy.

Caitlin has been fortunate enough to have performed across the UK from Milton Keynes to Hereford at various events and festivals. At only 15 years old, Caitlin was asked to provide the evening’s entertainment at The International Sheep Dog Trials where she completed two x 45-minute sets of country music at Princess Anne’s Country Estate.

The absolute highlight for Caitlin Mae however was when she was chosen to sing with American Idol winner Carrie Underwood in June 2019 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff. This was the pinnacle of Caitlin Mae’s career so far as she has always looked up to Carrie Underwood and it was a dream come true for her to be asked to share a stage with her.

Caitlin Mae released her first original song recently entitled The Dream in early 2020.

At the end of 2020, Caitlin released “A Candle for Christmas”. It tells the tale of a young woman who desperately misses her partner, a soldier, who was killed in the line of duty. “Through the verses, she reminisces on the memories they had together… My family has connections to military personnel so I really hope that the words I feel do it justice”.

“I feel that this song reflects on a journey that many people have travelled, even more so this year – and, although this particular story does not originate from a personal Covid-19 related experience, I hope that it honours those who have dealt with the loss of someone special and feel alone at Christmas time”.

Caitlin is supported by the team at Country Music Social Media and “Candle For Christmas” appears on their Compilation CD “The Christmas Edition”.
