PV TANNER was born in Horsham in Sussex shortly after the Second World War. He was brought up with a love for country music by his father and mother. His father, a multi instrumentalist, played in Scottish country bands, including at one time in a large accordion band which toured the country. Some of his greatest influences were great country songs including Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Johnny (The Tall Texan) Walker, Hoyt Axton and George Jones. PV's influences also included great crooners such as Perry Como, Matt Monro, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. PV has become known as "The Country Crooner" by his fans."
For a number of years, PV has shared his music with literally thousands of fans throughout the world. He has performed in many countries including Germany, Spain and the Islands, Ireland, Scotland and, of course, England. While in the Spanish islands, he performed regularly at the "Son Matias Beach Hotel" in Palma Nova Majorca and in Tenerife at the Famous Lizard Bar and Accapulco Club in Playa De Las Americas .He has appeared in large venues such Warners, Mill Rythe, and Butlins as well as many bars and community centres. He has also performed with Leapy Lee and The Ivy League
In 2009, PV decided to record all his songs and set up his own recording company and label. He released them via Amazon, iTunes and CDBaby and several other digital distributors. After a short illness, PV decided to produce some more recordings, under a new company PVT Record Productions.
Peter has been a linedance instructor for 20 years, and has chaired the BWDA2000 (British Western Dance Association). He has choreographed dances to several songs and intends to write more dances to accompany his own songs as and when they are released.
In September 2011, PV released an album he always wanted to make, "Country & Irish Favourites Vol 1". The album, available from our Online Music Store, contains his versions of some of the greatest songs ever written. Peter followed it up with a second collection in June 2012.
Peter's latest release is the single "Love Sunrise" which is written by Chet A.Blum and Karen Staley, who has written hits for Reba McEntre, Faith Hill and Terri Clark.
