  • STEVE GIBSON is originally from Newcastle. He began playing guitar when he was six years old. By the age of 15, he had achieved Grade 7 with Merit in Classical Guitar with Trinity College in London.

Steve's guitar playing is inspired by both Chet Atkins, and from Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits who his father knew personally when they were younger.

When he was 17, Steve moved to Saskatchewan in Canada with his family to take up farming. He has released two singles, and has received a good deal of airplay on radio stations in Canada, the US and the UK.

Steve has performed at many venues including the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in Regina, the Casino Regina Show Lounge and the Craven Country Jamboree main stage, where he returns in 2011.

Steve is passionate about new country music and has been featured in several magazine articles too - among them Country Music News, and the UK's Country Routes Magazine.

Steve writes and produces all of his own music - to the extent that he has even turned down offers from well-known Nashville writers wanting to co-write with him. Steve says his music comes straight from his heart and mind, and no-one else can put into music what he is feeling.

Steve is currently finalising his twelve-track album which he describes as very original and featuring many great guitar solos.

He is due to return to the UK in August 2011 for three weeks, when he intends to meet up with a veteran guitarist from Newcastle. They will be performing a few small shows.
